Chalk Hill Home Renovation
A Mediterranean-Inspired Home Renovation in Sonoma County’s Alexander Valley
The Chalk Hill residence is nestled in Alexander Valley in Sonoma County, California. This home renovation transformed an outdated property into a warm, sophisticated Mediterranean-inspired retreat.
After years of being untouched, the home offered an opportunity to reimagine its architectural character and interior spaces. RHD created a timeless residence celebrating natural materials, rich textures, Old World charm, and relaxed California luxury.
Transforming the original flat ceilings into dramatic raised ceilings accented with custom wood beams was key. These architectural enhancements introduced warmth, dimension, and history while establishing the home’s Mediterranean aesthetic.
Throughout the interiors, thoughtfully selected natural stone, decorative tile, statement lighting, rich color palettes, and graceful architectural arches bring character to each space. Layered textures, distinctive finishes, and curated furnishings balance rustic elegance with refined contemporary living.
Inspired by Mediterranean architecture and surrounding Sonoma County wine country, the residence reflects RHD’s approach to luxury residential interior design. We combine architectural transformation, timeless materials, and personalized details to create a sophisticated, livable home.
